Ouch! Well as a bird lover, I'll probably stay away from a Tee with a dead bird on it.

hehe I actually think the drawing is quite moving, bird lover or not. I think the idea for the song came from reading H.C. Andersens "Nightingale" (he is danish!!) for Dillion. Its about a Nightingale which sings so beautifully that it makes you cry : )

I took a photo for you Hey wait, mine's black! I knew I wasn't imagining things! They had other colors in LA didn't they? I remembered seeing other colors there but all they had in SD was black. Hey they didn't have that color in San Diego. Well them might have but the merch guy was not totally with it that night. Bummer, when's the Uncle going to put them up on the internet? I like the green tape in the lighter version. Though on the black one it really does look like tape.

The guy in San Deigo was hopeless ..... he had no idea.
I didn't get the black one because I got the black RDB logo one and the tour one which was also black so I thought I would go for a different colour, I love all my tshirts.
Thanks for the info about the book Simon, I might look into it.

Giselle, the story can be read online. Most of H.C Anderson's stuff is just short classic stories (I am sure most people have heard some of his stories).

Of course I know H.C. Andersen! Very famous in Germany, and at his time, he was more famous in Germany than in Denmark, so I read. well who knows. I love his fairytales, but almost all of them are so sad...lil mermaid, lil match girl, the snow queen... aaahhh so morbid. Plus I LOVE the film "The Red Shoes" - very evil. ;D

when I was a kid I was a huuuge fan of fairy tales. I loved stories from Norse mythology, the bible (the stories always seemed pretty violent which is something I liked as a small boy ) and all the classic stories. H.C. Andersen is pretty sad but with strong strong symbolic values and I actually think some of his stories made a big impact on me (which is why I found it highly disturbing when my teacher told me about the Freud analysis of "Little red ridinghood" which I can't even think about right now )
